It started with the King of the Orient and a snowman. Now, 40 years on, Royal Mail’s Christmas stamps continue to surprise and delight people around the world. Since 1966 we have striven to make our Christmas stamps as special as the event itself by tapping into the creativity and originality of dozens of top designers, photographersand illustrators from Britain and beyond.
So what can you expect to see in 2006? Well, like presents around the tree, we have always kept the actual designs under wraps, but we can tell you that even if it’s not snowing outside it will be on our stamps. ちなみに、イギリス国内の郵便料金は、First Class（速達：翌日配達）かSecond Class（普通：２，３日で配達）の２種類しかなかったので簡単だったのですが、今年の８月から料金体系と値段がかわり、1st32p、1st Large44p、2nd23p、2st Large37pになったようです。前に調べたときより２ペンスずつ値上がりしてる（ノヘ；） （参考サイト１ 2）
日本までの国際郵便は、Airmailではがき50p、封書50p（10gまで）、72p（20gまで）、1,19ポンド（40gまで）で、こちらも７ペンス、３ペンスずつ値上がりしてます。
サンタさん（1stクラス）、ゆきだるま（2ndクラス）、となかい（72ペンス）、ツリー（1.19ポンド）、ロビン・ブラックバード・ブルーティット・Wren（プレゼンテーションパック）、スケート（スマイラー）、ツリー（消印）、スノーマン（消印）、そり（封筒）、うさぎ・きつね（ミニシート）
など。2005年までと同じ料金で大きさだったら、あと２つ、違う絵があったのにねー。
しかし、デザイナーは各種類分いて、ストーリーを書いたライターがいて、全部の絵は木内達朗。いったいいくつ描いてるんだ（ノヘ；） ファンにとってはうれしいけど。

Stamp Cards
The Christmas Stamp Cards make the perfect greeting card to send out this season. Each one features a Mint Stamp from the Christmas issue, depicting Father Christmas, a reindeer, a snowman and a huge Christmas tree surrounded by presents. The stamps were designed by Japanese digital illustrator Tatsuro Kuichi, who uses layers of transparent colour to build up the image adding a twist to our traditional Christmas icons.
Christmas Smilers Generic Sheet
Beautifully designed by Rose Design, the Generic self-adhesive Smilers Sheet comprises 20 stamps: 10 x 1st Class and 10 x 2nd Class stamps set within a border, and labels illustrated by Tatsuro Kiuchi. The labels feature a snow scene in the park with illustrations of children, adults, snowflakes and a train passing below the hills.
